The RMS Titanic was the largest steamer in the World at the time of her launch on 31st May 1911. From the moment of planning to the preasent day Titanic has captivated the world.
The "Shipbuilder" wrote on completion of the Olympic that the passenger accommodation was of "unrivalled extent and magnificence and the excellent result defies improvement."
At noon on 10th April 1912 the Titanic set sail from Southampton to New York. At 11.40 pm on Sunday 14 April the Titanic struck an iceburg and sank claiming the lives of over 1500 people.
News of the disaster quickly struck the world. Investigations were launched to answer many questions: Why were there not enough lifeboats? Who was to blame?
